MPTCA 2016 has ended
Welcome to the online program for Mindful Learning 2016!
Once you have created an account please take the time to learn about the many great features of Sched, as well as how to change your privacy settings if needed: https://sched.org/support/guide/sign-up-for-an-event.
This online tool will allow you to create a schedule for the days you will be attending sessions at Convention. You can add multiple sessions for the same time slot so that you can keep your options open. Selecting a session does not guarantee you will have a seat in the room since most sessions are first come, first served. There are no waitlists either. Sessions that have the label POPULAR! have more people interested in attending the session than are seats in the room. Although Sched creates a waitlist, we do not use it since we do not check who is in every room. All rooms have a seat capacity that must be enforced due to fire regulations. Please read the session description for information about sessions that require pre-registration.
Your tentative schedule can be printed if you do not have a mobile device.
For important schedule and facility information check out the MAPS AND MORE tab below.

Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

In the keynote session focused on WHY we need to shift our lens to a strength-based approach in schools, this breakout session will focus on the HOW and WHAT of this shift. The following topics will be discussed:
- how to determine the strengths of our students
- ideas to move to a strength-based model in schools and classrooms
- ways to honour and recognize the strengths of our students
- moving from MY students to OUR students
- school-wide activities that build on the strengths of students and staff
- ideas on how we can share the school’s strengths beyond our school walls
The session is designed for educators that want to create change within and beyond their classroom walls; participants will walk away with practical ideas that can start an immediate shift to a strength-based culture in their classrooms and schools.
