Welcome to the online program for Mindful Learning 2016! Once you have created an account please take the time to learn about the many great features of Sched, as well as how to change your privacy settings if needed: https://sched.org/support/guide/sign-up-for-an-event. This online tool will allow you to create a schedule for the days you will be attending sessions at Convention. You can add multiple sessions for the same time slot so that you can keep your options open. Selecting a session does not guarantee you will have a seat in the room since most sessions are first come, first served. There are no waitlists either. Sessions that have the label POPULAR! have more people interested in attending the session than are seats in the room. Although Sched creates a waitlist, we do not use it since we do not check who is in every room. All rooms have a seat capacity that must be enforced due to fire regulations. Please read the session description for information about sessions that require pre-registration. Your tentative schedule can be printed if you do not have a mobile device. For important schedule and facility information check out the MAPS AND MORE tab below.
We live in interesting times. In the last 2 years we have seen the comings and goings of 3 education ministers and 4 premiers. We watched as Alberta changed governments for the first time in 44 years. And while they say that the only constant in life is change, through all these (and more) changes, the ATA has been constant in advocating for a great school for all: for all students and for all teachers. Join Vice President Greg Jeffery for a behind the scenes look at the hot issues facing teachers today and an in depth discussion of how the ATA is reacting to the shifting climate, including a Q and A session with members.
Greg is presently one of the vice presidents of the ATA. He has been active in the Association his entire career and always advocates for teachers and for Public Education.
