Welcome to the online program for Mindful Learning 2016!

This online tool will allow you to create a schedule for the days you will be attending sessions at Convention. You can add multiple sessions for the same time slot so that you can keep your options open. Selecting a session does not guarantee you will have a seat in the room since most sessions are first come, first served. There are no waitlists either. Sessions that have the label POPULAR! have more people interested in attending the session than are seats in the room. Although Sched creates a waitlist, we do not use it since we do not check who is in every room. All rooms have a seat capacity that must be enforced due to fire regulations. Please read the session description for information about sessions that require pre-registration.

Mindfulness sounds like a good idea but how does it really work? Mindfulness engages the part of the brain that is responsible for higher level thinking and self-control. That means students can learn to be more focused, less reactive and build greater resiliency to stress. In this session you will learn about your amazing brain including the neuroscience of mindfulness, how we get hijacked by our primitive brain and the power of plasticity in creating new neural pathways.
